A puller with gripping arms can be used to remove many seized components from shafts or mountings. These tools are suitable for bearings, gears, pulleys and similar components that can be gripped from the outside. Depending on the design, the gripping arms can be adjusted to different component diameters and depths. This makes them a practical solution for maintenance, repair and assembly work in the workshop and during service operations.

Grip Flexibly and Pull Off Components in a Controlled Manner

For many dismantling tasks, the correct contact point determines whether a component can be removed safely. A puller with gripping arms is adjusted so that the arms engage behind the component and the central spindle rests on the shaft or a suitable counter-support. When the spindle is tightened, the force is applied axially to the component.

The adjustable arrangement of the gripping arms makes it easier to adapt the tool to different diameters. At the same time, each arm must be positioned securely and as evenly as possible. Correct centring prevents the tool from slipping or the load from acting unevenly on one gripping arm.

Before use, check that the puller’s reach, pulling depth and load capacity are suitable for the specific application. Seized components may also be held in place by corrosion, dirt or a press fit. In such cases, the force should be increased slowly and the work area secured against the component coming loose suddenly.

Pullers with Gripping Arms

A puller with gripping arms is a mechanical pulling tool whose adjustable arms engage behind a component from the outside. A central spindle rests against the shaft or a suitable counter-support and pulls the component out of its seat in a controlled manner as the spindle is tightened.

Pullers with gripping arms are designed for typical dismantling tasks involving bearings, gears, pulleys, hubs or similar components. The adjustable position of the arms allows the tool to be adapted to different component diameters. This makes it versatile, particularly for changing repair and maintenance tasks.

For safe use, the gripping arms must engage fully and evenly behind the component. The spindle must be centred and must not apply lateral pressure to the shaft. Before tightening, check that the contact surfaces are sufficiently stable and that the permitted pulling depth, reach and load are not exceeded.
