Yes. Since OCHSENKOPF tools are manufactured with a gentle convex grind, the cutting edge remains extremely stable. To resharpen the edge, it is best to use a fine sharpening stone, such as the OX 40 sharpening stone, with circular movements. This restores the sharpness without generating heat.
Never strike the handle or the eye of the axe against the chopping block. Instead, use an aluminium turning splitting wedge, such as the OX 42. Drive the wedge into the gap next to the axe with a splitting maul to open the wood and free the blade without damaging the material.
