30° for maximum effect
The OCHSENKOPF OX 41 aluminium twist splitting wedge has a 30° twist. Unlike a straight wedge, it not only pushes the wood apart when driven in, but also creates a twisting motion. This increases the stroke height and enhances the splitting effect. The rotating splitting wedge is specifically designed for splitting firewood. Its front face features acute-angled grooves that improve grip within the wood. Additional saw-tooth serrations on the reverse and barbs on both sides help prevent the wedge from slipping out or springing back – particularly when dealing with frozen wood. Aluminium combines a comparatively low weight with a robust design.
