Both sides of the cutting edge should be worked on, and the tool should be turned regularly. This preserves the cutting geometry and prevents the edge from being sharpened unevenly.

You have the right replacement handle for your axe or striking hammer – how about the appropriate instructions for fitting it? A new handle can make a trusted tool safe to use again. Before fitting the new handle, the old handle must be removed completely and the eye of the axe head must be cleared of wood and adhesive residue.

You need a twist drill, hammer, Torx screwdriver, saw, pin punch, non-slip support and the suitable replacement handle.
Make sure that the markings on the handle and axe head are on the same side. The handle protection sleeve must rest fully against the axe head. Also use only the suitable replacement handle and the specified securing components.
Drive the retaining pin through the retaining plate and then check all components. The handle, axe head, wedges, retaining plate and retaining pin must be correctly installed and firmly connected to one another. Only use the tool after completing a successful visual inspection.
