Not All Bits Are the Same, and PH Is Not the Same as PZ

Torsion Bit Sets for Reliable Screw Connections
GEDORE torsion bits are designed for demanding screwdriving tasks involving changing loads. The integrated torsion zone can absorb load peaks and supports controlled power transmission. At the same time, the bit profile is relieved during dynamic screwdriving operations, which is an important prerequisite for a long service life and careful treatment of the screw connection. The bits are available for common drives and are included in the 666-032, 666-042 and 666-045 sets.
Depending on the version, the sets contain a practical selection of 1/4-inch bits in different profiles, sizes and lengths. They also include suitable bit holders, socket inserts and drive adapters for various applications. This makes the sets suitable for professional use in assembly, workshops and the skilled trades whenever a flexible and durable bit range is required.
7RB Bit Adapter: Turn a Ring Ratchet Wrench into a Bit Ratchet
The GEDORE 7 RB bit adapter transforms a conventional ring ratchet wrench from the 7 R or 7 UR series into a fully functional, extremely compact ratchet for screwdriver bits. Its operation is straightforward: One side of the adapter features an external hexagon that is inserted directly into the ring ratchet, while an integrated ball lock ensures a secure hold and prevents the adapter from falling out. The other side features a precise hexagon socket for standard bits, which are securely held in position by a strong permanent magnet. The actual ratcheting function is provided entirely by the underlying wrench, allowing screws to be tightened or loosened quickly and without repositioning the tool, even in extremely confined and difficult-to-access areas.

Torsion Zone: The Interaction of Material and Geometry
When a screw is driven in with a cordless screwdriver, a sudden, hard stop occurs at the end of the screwdriving process. This is known as a “hard joint”. At this moment, the specially tapered torsion zone of the bit twists slightly around its own longitudinal axis. Its elastic yielding gently absorbs extreme torque peaks. The energy is released in the torsion zone rather than being transferred without damping to the sensitive bit tip or screw head. The tip is extremely hard and wear-resistant, while the steel in the torsion zone is tough and elastic. This prevents the bit from breaking under severe torsional loads and increases its service life.
