2.3 Tonnes of Clamping Force: The KL-5901 Coil Spring Compressor
Heavy-duty suspension springs place considerable demands on the spring compressor when MacPherson struts are removed and installed. Particularly in SUVs, pick-ups and electric vehicles, high spring forces must be controlled safely and reliably. The stationary KL-5901 coil spring compressor from GEDORE Automotive is designed for a clamping force of 22,500 N – equivalent to approximately 2.3 tonnes. At the same time, its design incorporates a fourfold safety factor and has been tested by an independent organisation with loads exceeding 9.0 tonnes. Thanks to this combination of high clamping force and a safe, controlled compression process, the KL-5901 was nominated for the Innovation Award at Automechanika 2026.
