The accessories make all the difference
At the VG Werke Wittlich-Land sewage treatment plant in Rivenich, the LDA-05S gate valve wrench from GEDORE Torque Solutions GmbH is used to open and close gate valves. In addition, the machine is also used by the 13 employees for the maintenance of day-tight and pressure-tight manhole covers.
There are about 3,000 manhole covers in the area, spread over about 400 km of pipe network, which have to be checked every 10 years. Every 14 days or after every major rainfall, 68 lids are opened and closed again to check the overflow basins. The lids can be opened and closed again with four screw connections with individually adapted adapters.
The pictures show the adapted adapters and the handling of the screw case. The screws with a metric thread of M14-M18 are screwed with the telescopic slide bar in an optimal position for the worker. The advantages of the LDA-05S not only have a positive effect on the efficiency of the work processes, but also on the ergonomic design of these for the employees. The physical effort is significantly reduced because a stooped posture is no longer necessary and working on the floor in wet and cold conditions is no longer necessary. The fact that all existing floor and handwheel gate valves in the VG Werke Wittlich-Land are moved with the LDA-05S saves a lot of time and energy.

The LDA-S series from GEDORE Torque Solutions
The LDA-S slide gate machine is available as standard in four versions, 500, 700, 900 and 1,200 N-m, covering a much wider torque range than comparable models. Other torques are available on request. With a total weight of between 3.3 and 3.9 kilograms - depending on the type - the GEDORE Torque Solutions pusher also scores highly against the competition. The battery, which is also very light (740 g), the electronically infinitely adjustable torque setting, the microprocessor-controlled cut-off electronics and the robust planetary gearbox offer additional plus points in terms of user comfort, safety, efficiency and precision.
In addition to the obligatory operating instructions, the LDA-S comes with three lithium-ion batteries, a reaction arm, a charger and a tool case for safe transport and storage. All technical details as well as the scope of delivery are described in detail on the following page.
