The new FIX-Click system from the TORCOFIX series

Precise bolting not only requires the correct torque setting but also safe handling of the tool. GEDORE’s TORCOFIX TF-K, SE, and Z torque wrenches assist users with the FIX-Click system: This system provides both tactile and audible feedback to indicate that the set value has been locked in. The setting remains in effect until the user actively changes it using the color-coded lock at the end of the handle. This reduces the risk of unintentional torque changes and ensures consistent, controlled, and precise tightening in workshops, industry, and the trades.

The ergonomics of the TORCOFIX torque wrenches are also designed for intuitive and controlled operation. The convexly shaped handle is modeled after the hand’s natural grip. A circumferential groove in the center of the handle aids in correct positioning and enhances the perception of the audible and tactile trigger. When the set torque is reached, the wrench releases automatically with a distinct audible and tactile sensation. It is then immediately ready for the next operation without requiring readjustment.

To ensure the necessary precision, the TORCOFIX is calibrated to a maximum deviation of +/- 3% from the set torque. This means it falls below the maximum deviation of +/- 4% required by DIN EN ISO 6789-2:2017. The TORCOFIX TF-K also allows for controlled clockwise and counterclockwise tightening. To change the direction of rotation, remove the mushroom head, rotate the wrench, and reinsert the square drive.

The TORCOFIX also assists the user with the steps involved in the actual tightening process. A locking recess provides a secure hold when setting the torque. If the wrench needs to be set down between steps, a foot on the handle prevents it from rolling away. The matte finishes reduce distracting reflections during use.

The desired torque is set using the dual scale for Nm and lbf·ft in combination with the integrated vernier scale. Depending on the model, the vernier scale allows for graduations in increments of 0.5 to 1 Nm. The high-contrast color scheme makes it easier to read the scale even in poor lighting conditions. The vernier scale, unit labels, and main scale are protected by a magnifying lens, ensuring they remain clearly legible over time. The units, arranged side by side, also eliminate the need to convert between Nm and lbf·ft.
