The new Spring Compressor KL-5901
A key feature of the KL-5901 spring compressor is the way the spring is held during the clamping process. Unlike solutions that engage the spring directly, on the KL-5901 the suspension spring is compressed via the spring plate and held simultaneously via the damper tube and the upper strut mount. The spring is thus guided throughout the entire process in the same position it has in the vehicle. A variable spring plate holder and an adjustable strut holding device allow adaptation to different McPherson struts. Clamping is carried out in a controlled, purely mechanical manner using the handwheel.
The form-fit and force-fit fixing via the damper tube prevents uncontrolled transverse forces on the spring. The complete assembly of damper, spring and strut mount remains positionally secure during clamping. Direct engagement with the spring is not required. As a result, neither spring shape nor spring pitch matters, which makes the KL-5901 universally applicable to McPherson struts. With its high clamping force, the KL-5901 is also designed for particularly strong springs. In addition to conventional vehicles, the spring compressor is suitable for EVs, SUVs and pick-ups and is therefore also suited to the requirements of modern suspension applications. The design is OEM-proven and combines high load capacity with a mechanically controlled way of working.
The KL-5901 is also designed for practical workshop use. Clamping is carried out using the handwheel and can be performed by one person. The variable receptacle, the fixing via damper tube and strut mount, and the absence of direct engagement with the spring support simple and controlled handling when removing and installing the suspension spring.
