OCHSENKOPF – A Brand Like a Legend
Since 1781, OCHSENKOPF has stood for high-quality forestry and carpentry tools, traditional forging craftsmanship, and reliable quality. The brand’s history began with an axe forge founded by the Fahlefeld brothers in the Bergisches Land region. Today, OCHSENKOPF is part of the GEDORE Group; it manufactures its tools in Germany and distributes them worldwide. Its product range includes axes, hatchets, splitting axes, splitting hammers, felling wedges, timber extraction tools, and carpentry tools. The name derives from the company’s trademark—"the ox head" (Ochsenkopf)—which was registered in the Remscheid trademark registry on June 2, 1781, making it one of the oldest marks in the Bergisch tool industry.
