Social Responsibility
For GEDORE, social sustainability means supporting the well-being of our employees, creating fair working conditions and supporting local communities at our sites around the world. This is reflected in very practical measures: from training and development opportunities and workplace health promotion to social engagement that extends far beyond our own region.
With People, for People
For the GEDORE Group, social responsibility is not just a matter of words—it is put into practice at all our locations worldwide. We create fair working conditions, promote the health and development of our employees, and actively support local and international communities. In doing so, we are guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and contribute to a fairer, more supportive society.
1. No Poverty:
Fair Jobs Worldwide
At all our international locations, we aim to contribute to the fight against poverty. We therefore create and maintain fair jobs and working conditions for all our employees, both at our production sites and in our sales companies. And because responsibility does not end with working life, we also help safeguard our employees’ future through occupational pension schemes and appropriate advisory services.
3. Good Health and Well-being:
People at the Heart of Everything We Do
Healthy employees are the foundation of a strong company. That is why, together with our employees, we are creating a working environment that actively promotes health. This includes workplace health promotion projects, ergonomic improvements in offices and production facilities, and an established health management system that also covers addiction prevention. Together at GEDORE, we are creating a positive working environment where everyone can feel comfortable.
4. Quality Education:
Shaping the Future through Training
Investing in training means investing in the future. That is why we attach great importance to training young people in technical and commercial professions, enabling them to access high-quality academic and vocational education. New colleagues receive competent and structured induction at GEDORE. Experienced employees support them as personal mentors, passing on their knowledge from one generation to the next.
5. Gender Equality:
Respect and Equal Opportunities
Equal opportunities for all employees, regardless of gender or gender identity, are a matter of course for us. We treat one another with empathy and respect and recognise the individuality of every person. Because diversity makes us stronger as a team.
11. Sustainable Cities and Communities:
Rooted in Our Region
GEDORE is fully committed to production sites close to our markets, thereby strengthening the regional economy and supporting local employment. With this commitment, we also take responsibility for creating liveable cities and communities. Specific climate protection measures, such as a 100% recycling rate for waste metal and scrap, together with investment in existing buildings rather than new construction, bring economic, social and environmental objectives together.
16. Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions:
Engagement Beyond Borders
For us, a peaceful and just society begins right on our own doorstep, but our commitment does not end there. Both nationally and internationally, we support peace, justice and strong institutions through donations and memberships of charitable organisations. When people find themselves in need, we provide support—as we did following the severe floods in Brazil in 2024.
Corporate Responsibility
Quality and Certifications
Transparency and demonstrable responsibility are not simply aspirations for the GEDORE Group—they are part of our everyday practice. At our production and administrative sites in Germany and Austria, we continuously work to measure energy consumption, quality standards and environmental impacts, and to verify them through independent certifications.
