GEDORE High-Torque Electric Torque Wrenches
Network-powered electric high-torque Wrenches for industrial use
Large bolted connections in heavy mechanical engineering, steel construction and industrial flange applications require precise torque values and long-term mechanical durability. GEDORE Torque Solutions mains-powered electric torque wrenches have been specially developed for these demanding industrial applications. Connected to a standard 230-volt mains supply, these tools enable controlled and repeatable tightening and loosening of high-strength bolted connections in demanding industrial environments.
Compared with mobile cordless wrenches, the corded mains-powered models offer specific technical advantages for stationary applications or continuous shift operation:
- Unlimited runtime: No work stoppages caused by empty batteries or long charging times – constant readiness for use during shift operation.
- Maximum torque levels: Continuous access to powerful torque classes of up to 13,000 Nm without a drop in performance as battery capacity decreases.
- Consistent performance: A constant, high power supply directly from the mains guarantees absolutely stable torque for every bolting application.
- Weight advantage on the tool: Without heavy high-performance battery packs, the tools are more manageable and better balanced within the same power class.
- Focus on core functionality: Designed for pure mechanical precision without complex wireless interfaces or software documentation on the battery side.
The LDE & LEW Series
GEDORE’s corded electric torque wrenches are divided into two main product series, each precisely tailored to the ergonomic requirements of your working environment. Both versions feature a robust aluminium gearbox housing and a mechanical two-speed gearbox to convert the enormous power efficiently.
GEDORE LDE Series – The Straight Design
The LDE models are classic, axially designed electric torque wrenches. They are the first choice for all freely accessible bolted connections where the tool can be positioned straight from above or from the front – for example, when assembling tower flanges in wind power installations or in heavy steel construction.
GEDORE LEW Series – The Angled Design
The LEW series is used wherever space above the bolted connection is severely restricted. Equipped with a heavy-duty 90-degree angle gearbox, this design enables precise work in confined machine rooms, deep-set pipe flanges or inside vehicle frames.
The Key Functions at a Glance:
- Integrated digital display: The clear display on the handle enables easy and precise adjustment of the desired torque.
- Visual and acoustic operator guidance: The system guides the user safely through the bolting process and indicates the current status.
- Precise automatic shut-off: As soon as the preset target torque is reached exactly, the tool stops immediately. This effectively prevents overloads, thread damage and material breakage.
- Special LDE-S version (side power wrench): For special applications, GEDORE offers a flat, laterally offset gearbox. This mains-powered special design minimises the time required to open and close plate heat exchangers or long threaded rods evenly.

Answers to the Most Frequently Asked Questions
The difference lies solely in the mechanical design for different space conditions. The LDE series has a straight design and is ideal for freely accessible bolted connections from above or from the front. The LEW series is equipped with a 90° angle gearbox. It was specially developed for extremely confined, angled or deep-set installation spaces where a straight wrench cannot be positioned. The electronic control system and power levels are identical in both series.
The desired torque is entered directly on the tool using buttons and an integrated digital display. The display guides the operator visually and acoustically through the adjustment process. As soon as the tool reaches the precisely preset torque during the bolting process, the electric torque wrench switches off automatically and precisely to prevent overloads or material damage.
Electric torque wrenches operate much more efficiently, quietly and cleanly. As they are connected directly to a standard 230 V power socket, there is no need for a heavy hydraulic power pack or bulky oil hoses, and the risk of leaks is eliminated. Work progress is also noticeably faster, while the lower system weight makes the tool significantly more ergonomic and flexible to use at changing locations.
The modular portfolio covers an extremely wide range for applications of every size. The power classes start with smaller models from 90 Nm, for example for general mechanical engineering, and extend in graduated model variants up to an impressive 13,000 Nm of torque for heavy steel construction, flange connections in the chemical industry or maintenance work on wind turbines.
