Electrical Systems & Sensors: Safely Unlocking Cable Connectors
Automotive cable connectors are often very tight. Heat in the engine compartment can also make the plastic parts brittle. With the modular KL-0190 unlocking system, you can release plug connections in a controlled manner, even where conventional tools reach their limits. The special profile engages precisely with the release tab. Depending on the installation situation, the connector can be released by pulling from the rear or pushing from the front, even if the plastic tab is already damaged or broken off.
The 270 mm extension also allows you to reach deeply recessed plug connections in the engine compartment. Suitable, among other things, for connections on:

Bodywork & Door Handles: Releasing Concealed Mechanisms
On many VAG Group vehicles, the exterior door handle is held in place by a concealed retaining hook. This must be released and then locked again before the door handle or cover cap without lock cylinder can be removed. The KL-0273-10 and KL-0273-11 Removal Tools for Car Door Handles are designed for this task.

The precisely angled hook of the KL-0273-10 is suitable for applications including Golf V, Passat B6 and Tiguan. The KL-0273-11 is optimised for newer geometries with a head width of 3.5 mm. Using a standard screwdriver or improvised wire carries the risk of scratching the paintwork, damaging the internal door mechanism or breaking off the retaining hook. By contrast, the matched tool geometry enables precise work on the concealed mechanism.

The retaining springs of the parking brake shoes in a drum or parking brake are under high tension and are often difficult to access. This is precisely where the KL-0314-1 T-Handle Brake Spring Tool is used.

The T-handle makes it possible to grip, turn and lock the retaining spring precisely. This allows it to be handled in a more controlled manner during removal and installation than with conventional pliers. This reduces the risk of the tensioned spring slipping, springing away uncontrollably or making the work unnecessarily difficult.

The small retaining springs inside the brake drum are under massive tension. If standard pliers slip, the spring can shoot away uncontrollably (high risk of injury to the eyes and face) or become lost in the workshop. The T-handle positively encloses the spring and allows play-free turning and levering without the spring jumping off.
This is strongly discouraged in practice. The retaining hook inside the door is completely out of sight. If wire or screwdrivers slip, they can scratch the painted edge of the door panel or break off the delicate plastic hook inside. The GEDORE tools are angled precisely and noticeably engage, making slipping impossible.
This depends on the model year and lock geometry: KL-0273-10 (OEM T10389), suitable for older to mid-generation platforms such as Golf V, Golf VI, Tiguan I, Passat B6 and Beetle II. It features a distinctive 10 mm hook. KL-0273-11 (OEM T10539) was developed for newer geometries and extremely narrow installation spaces where the locking mechanism head width is only 3.5 mm.
The system has a modular design. The short blade is the actual functional component that engages at the front. Since modern engine compartments are extremely crowded (e.g. with rear-mounted ignition coils or mass air flow sensors), you screw the 260 mm extension in between to reach deep, narrow spaces without removing other engine components.
This is precisely where the KL-0190-13 comes into its own. Thanks to its unique profile, the tool engages with the locking mechanism so that you can both pull the connector from the rear and push it from the front. It levers the connector out without damage even if the tab is no longer intact.
The KL-0190-13 Compact Unlocking Tool can be used universally. The tool was specially developed for the most common connector systems in the engine compartment. It covers the majority of sensors and actuators on VW-Audi, Seat, Škoda, Porsche, Opel, Fiat and Renault vehicles.
Locking mechanisms have defined engagement points. A suitable tool can actuate the locking mechanism precisely before the connection is separated.
