Protect Instead of Rounding Off
The GEDORE UNIT DRIVE profile revolutionises screwdriving: Instead of applying force to the sensitive corners, the fluted profile grips the flanks of the screw head over a larger surface area. This offers decisive advantages in the workshop: The screw head is protected as effectively as possible and power transmission increases by up to 20%. Even screws that have already been rounded off or damaged can be gripped securely and loosened with ease. Dangerous slipping is effectively prevented.
The Connection Between Machine and Socket
The GEDORE IMPACT-FIX retention system sets new standards for machine-operated screwdriving. Its special feature is the integrated, captive two-pin retention system with ring for impact sockets. It connects the tool to the machine with exceptional reliability. The insert cannot fall off or loosen unintentionally, even under extreme vibrations. This ensures maximum occupational safety and efficiency in overhead line construction, wind energy and industry.
Tightening Extension
The GEDORE 1990 M is a 1/2" socket extension with an integrated retaining magnet. It increases the reach of ratchets for deeply recessed screw connections.
Its special feature is the intelligent spring mechanism: A through-pin transfers the magnetic force directly to the screw or nut inside the socket. This enables genuine one-handed operation in extremely confined spaces, as small components are held securely and cannot be lost. Answers to the Most Frequently Asked Questions
A reversible ratchet allows the working direction to be changed using a lever and is used for conventional assembly and maintenance work. A free-running ratchet, on the other hand, engages in both directions but runs freely in one direction without the need to change the setting. GEDORE free-running ratchets from the 31 K series are specially designed for long handles and high tightening torques, such as those required in steel construction or plant engineering.
VDE-insulated ratchets are used when working on or near live components, for example in electrical engineering, control cabinet construction or energy supply. The insulation protects the user against electric shock. GEDORE VDE ratchets such as the VDE 3093 U and VDE 1993 U are insulated in accordance with EN 60900 and IEC 60900 up to 1,000 V and individually tested.
The return angle indicates how far the ratchet must be moved back before it engages again in the working direction. The smaller the angle, the better the ratchet is suited to confined installation spaces where only limited movement is possible. GEDORE ratchets are designed for the smallest possible return angle, which is particularly advantageous in engine compartments or confined constructions.
In principle, socket inserts manufactured in accordance with DIN 3120 and ISO 1174 are standardised, meaning inserts from different manufacturers can generally be combined. For a permanently reliable connection and optimum power transmission, however, it is recommended to use coordinated products from the same range, as tolerances, ball retention grooves and material quality may vary.
Standard socket inserts transfer force in a straight extension of the ratchet axis. Articulated inserts feature a swivelling connection between the drive and the insert, allowing screws to be tightened at an angle of up to 25 degrees. This is particularly helpful for laterally offset screws, installation situations with angled access or applications where a straight tool axis is not possible.
